Polraen is a small historic hotel style country house nestling in the beautiful Looe River Valley in South East Cornwall. With easy access from extensive onsite parking and served by the scenic Looe Valley Line train and local bus services, our peaceful alternative to staying in the heart of town enables you to explore Cornwall with or without a car.

We endeavour to run Polraen Country House as an environmentally aware tourism business by adhering to recycling routines, environmentally friendly practices, assisting guests to explore Cornwall using public transport and participating as volunteers in our Looe Marine Conservation Group running free events. We hold the Green Acorn Award for Sustainable Tourism and have graduated from the Green Foundation Course at the Eden Project.

Directions
Road
From Plymouth, travel west toward Liskeard on the A38 for about 10 miles until you reach a left turn signposted B3251 ‘Widegates, Sandplace, Looe’. At the stop sign, follow B3252 which joins the A387 through Morval and on to Sandplace. From the West: From the roundabout where the A38 and A390 converge, take the turn into the village of Dobwalls. At the mini double roundabout, turn right onto the B3254 toward Looe. Pass through Duloe, descend a steep hill to Sandplace. Polraen is at the junction with the main A387 running into Looe
Train
Mainline train to Liskeard, changing to the Looe Valley Line. Sandplace is the nearest stop to Looe. It is a request stop so please tell the conductor. From the station, turn right at the gate and walk parallel to the railway track for circa 400 yards.
Bus
No 573 – Liskeard-Sandplace-Looe- Polperro -hourly service 07.30 to 1900 stopping outside the hotel
