Porthleven - map
Porthleven is the UK's most southerly fishing harbour, near Helston in Cornwall, and was originally developed as a harbour of refuge, when this part of the Cornish coastline was famed for wrecks in days of sail. This beautiful village that exudes charm and tradition retains its historic character along with stunning local scenery. The village has dozens of independent shops, galleries, tea rooms, with cornish pasties, cream scone teas, fish & chips on the menu. A leisurely stroll around the harbour, built by Napoleonic prisoners of war,and nearby beaches make Porthleven a truly great place to stay or visit. There is also a programme of special events that run through the main holiday seasons.
