We all like a bit of make believe in our lives and with its spectacular location on North Cornwall’s dramatic and rugged Atlantic coast, Tintagel is a place full of magic where you’ll discover myths of kings, wizards and brave knights. Visit one of the most iconic locations in the UK, Tintagel Castle has all the legends, romance and heroic chivalry you could wish for plus stunning coastal views. Legend has it that heroic King Arthur was born here, there’s a sea cavern down on the beach known as Merlin’s Cave and high up on the cliffs stand the ruins of a once mighty fortress. The village has embraced the whole gothic romance philosophy which is totally in keeping and unique and you can browse a wealth of unusual gift shops selling wands, crystal balls, pendulums and rune stones. There are also attractions such as a medieval manor house and a reconstruction of the legendary king’s throne room, all of which add to Tintagel’s tangible mysticism.
