Description
Stroll around the streets and impressive buildings of this historic market town. Pay a visit to the legendary Blue Anchor pub (this places started life as a monk's resthouse in the 15th century, although the famous Spingo beer brewed on the premises is far from holy!). Or come in May for Flora Day - to join the whole town in one massive party celebrating the onset of spring.
The Royal Naval Air Station of Culdrose is just outside the town and an Air Day is held in July each year. Other places to visit are the town Folk Museum, the National Trust run Penrose Estate with walks to Loe Pool, Poldark Mine at Wendron, Trevarno Estate and Gardens, and the family attraction of Flambards.
