Description
St Just is a village full of character, with a landscape typical of Cornwall’s mining past. At the centre of the village is Plain-an-Gwarry, an circular outdoor amphitheatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, which have now been revived and performed at certain times of the year. A festival with music and dance takes place over a week in May each year with concerts, street processions, stalls etc.
Near to St Just is the Iron Age village of Carn Euny (EH), Geevor Tin Mine at Pendeen (no longer a working mine, but open to the public), Levant Beam Engine (NT) and the cliff edge engine houses at Botallack.
