It was a night of glamour, congratulations and celebration at the Headland Hotel on 15th October as the crème de la crème of Cornwall’s tourism industry came together for the much anticipated and highly coveted, Cornwall Tourism Awards 2009.
Now in their eighth year the VisitCornwall organised Awards recognise and reward excellence across 17 categories and draw hundreds of quality entries making for a tense and exciting Awards evening.
The spotlight shone on tourism businesses, large and small, from all corners of the county as well as John Hick who was presented with the Outstanding Services to Tourism Award for his immense contribution and commitment to the industry.
But the star of the night was the four-star, St Michaels Hotel & Spa which was presented with the Winner of Winners title having scoped Large Hotel of the Year as well as Tourism Website of the Year.
Each of the finalists were congratulated by Kirstie Allsopp who added a little extra sparkle to the evening by appearing as guest speaker and sharing her experience of the county.
