St Austell
Opened at the end of February 2010, The Cornwall Hotel and Spa nestles in the tranquil, wooded hillside of its own 43-acre estate. The four star hotel comprises the immaculately restored 19th century White House along with the stylish new Woodland Rooms, a fine dining restaurant, a family brasserie and the state of the art spa.
The 19th century stable has been converted into The Clearing Spa, a world of luxurious surroundings, peaceful relaxation and soothing experiences. The spa comprises of 5 treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and an infinity-edge pool which in any weather you will enjoy a spectacular setting for your swim with stunning views over the 19th century subtropical walled garden to the Pentewan Valley beyond. For the more energetic, there are tennis courts and a fully equipped state-of-the-art gymnasium.
The White House:
Nine sumptuous bedrooms and suites in The White House, each one full of individual character, reflect the mansion’s Victorian heritage and make the most of the glorious parkland views.
Suites and Junior Suites offer luxurious four-poster beds with the highest quality Egyptian linen. There are roll-top baths, drench showers, and Aromatherapy Associates toiletries for you to enjoy.
Original architectural features such as fireplaces and Victorian shuttered windows have been lovingly restored, though not to the exclusion of modern luxuries such as flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.
Woodland Rooms:
The new wing, whose sinuous roof-line blends naturally into the hillside behind The White House, has 56 Woodland Rooms – standard, accessible, family and deluxe.
Each of these newly-built Woodland Rooms has a generous private balcony. The deluxe rooms offer a choice of contemporary open-plan layout or a more traditional en-suite style. There are also inter-connecting rooms suitable for families (including well-behaved dogs!).
All of the 56 south-facing rooms have a substantially glazed elevation, affording maximum light and mesmerising views. With flat-panel TVs, power-showers and free Wi-Fi every modern need is catered for.
Restaurants:
Guests at The Cornwall can choose The Arboretum for a true fine dining experience. Our renowned Head Chef, Tom Bradbury, has created an outstanding menu to capitalise on the abundance of fresh, high-quality local ingredients.
Alternatively, Acorns brasserie offers a more informal experience with a theatrical open-plan kitchen, pizza oven, Mediterranean favourites and alfresco dining. This creates the most welcoming and relaxed of environments for families and groups throughout the day and evening.
The Drawing Room and The Parkland Terrace, overlooking the Pentewan Valley, provide a breath-taking setting for Cornish Afternoon Tea, canapes and cocktails.
FROM the A30, take the A391 to St Austell. Turn right onto the A390, after approx. 1 mile, turn left on to the B3273 toward Mevagissey. The Cornwall Hotel, Spa & Estate is about half-a-mile from St Austell on the right-hand side.
