Rail

Many of Cornwall's coastal towns are linked to the main rail line which runs through Cornwall by smaller, scenic branch lines. As well as getting you from A to B these provide a great way to see parts of the county without leaving your mark. Click here for further information.

Bus

Cornwall's extensive network of bus services is run by two main operators - First Devon and Cornwall and Western Greyhound. Smaller operators also offer services in specific areas. Timetables for all services and maps can be accessed online at www.cornwallpublictransport.info.

Traveline is also a useful resource for travel information in Cornwall, call 0871 200 2233 or visit www.travelinesw.com.

Ride Cornwall

Get yourself a one-day unlimited travel ticket and really see all that Cornwall has to offer. The Ride Cornwall ticket can be bought and used on all train services and most bus services within Cornwall, at any time on weekends or public holidays and also after 9am on Mondays to Fridays. It can also be bought and used on journeys between Cornwall and Plymouth. Simply buy one from the bus driver, at rail stations or from the train conductor where the station is unstaffed.

Ride Cornwall adult ticket costs £10, child ticket £7.50 and family ticket (up to 2 adults and 3 children) £20.

Ferry

With 80% of Cornwall being surrounded by water what better way is there to get around than by ferry? Hop onto one of the many passenger or car ferries that operate around the county and see Cornwall in the way nature intended.

Park and Ride

To ease the stress of parking (and to reduce your impact on the environment at the same time) why not use one of the park-and-ride schemes which operate in some of Cornwall's most popular towns. Available during the summer months in Looe, St Ives, Padstow and Falmouth - in an unique park-and-float form.

Park for Truro is Cornwall's first year-round park and ride service. The service runs Monday - Saturday and provides quick and easy access to the city centre for shopping and attractions.

Taxi

If you want to get somewhere extra quickly or have a journey to make that isn't served by public transport, make use of one of the many taxi companies in Cornwall.
