The National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek offers visitors the chance to get up close to seals and sea lions from Cornwall to California!
Experience animal welfare in action at the UK’s busiest seal rescue centre. Encounter fascinating streamlined seals and playful otters. Visit Cornwall’s only working seal hospital and meet our resident seals and sea lions.
Visitors to the National Seal Sanctuary are then transported 'underwater ' where you are able to view these wonderful creatures at their most graceful.
Don't miss the National Seal Sanctuary’s ‘Cornish Coast Experience’ where we bring the coast to you! Learn all about the fascinating creatures found around the Cornish coast that live in our rock pools, understand how they survive and fascinating facts! Did you know that if a starfish doesn’t like the taste of its dinner it will simply leave its stomach, walk off and grow another one, yuk!
NEW 2008
Now you will not just learn about seal rescue…you can become a rescue volunteer yourself. Discover how to tube feed a rescued pup and how to take its temperature. Don’t worry though, our special ‘plastic’ seal pups don’t bite. Everyone who takes part receives a special seal rescue badge.

Road Directions
From Helston take A3083 to the Lizard, once past Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose take first left at roundabout on B3293. After 1/2 mile take second turning left to Gweek. Follow road for 3 miles into Gweek village. Just before Gweek Inn turn right to Seal Sanctuary.
