So, you get to Cornwall and you want to explore a bit more of the county. Why not take a boat trip or endeavour on a Cornish cycle tour? Travelling car free has never been easier in Cornwall.
Most of the harbour towns around the coast operate pleasure cruises, just look out for the notice boards on the Pier at Falmouth or the harbour at Padstow. Or catch the ferry from Fowey across the river to Polruan, or down to Mevagissey. Perhaps you yearn to find out more about the coastal wildlife? Then there is no better way than a SeaFari in a fast rib.
Scenic boat trips are replacing car journeys in Cornwall especially with the Fal River Links transport network. Some of the county’s best walks and attractions can be enjoyed without taking your car. Regular ferry services link Falmouth, Truro, St Mawes, St Anthony Headland, Flushing, Trelissick Gardens and Smuggler’s Cottage. Also throughout July and August the Pandora Ferry between Restronguet Point and Restronguet has returned after retiring for over 50 years.
If keeping your feet on dry land is more your thing, then why not follow one of the many town trails that wind their way around the county's towns, just pop into the Tourist Information Centre when you arrive to find out more.
You could always join one of the Ramblers Associations group walks; you'll get to see some amazing countryside that's off the beaten track. Or maybe a full service walking holiday with your accommodation booked for you and luggage transferred.
Cornish Cycle Tours can arrange self-guided cycling tours around Cornwall, arranging everything from transferring your luggage to providing you with detailed route maps for each day of your holiday.
Or how about for that extra special holiday, maybe a birthday or anniversary, hiring a classic car and driving along the coast road with the roof down and the wind in your hair, exhilarating!
A day trip to the Isles of Scilly lets you view the wonderful West Cornwall coast, before heading the 26 miles out to sea to reach them. Either go by plane, helicopter or boat, they are well worth a visit and are truly magical.
