As well as this Supersized Science Spectacular, there are all sorts of exciting activities happening at the Maritime Museum this February.
Launching on 16 March 2012 is the new blockbuster exhibition ‘Search & Rescue’, celebrating the rescue services who keep us safe at sea. A mix of large objects, stories, photography, film and artefacts offers you the opportunity to climb inside a Sea King search and rescue helicopter, get involved in a rescue, experience what it’s like when the worse happens and discover the heroes of our seas.
A living history exploration of Cornwall and the Sea in the Bronze Age opens on 13 April 2012. The exhibition, ‘2012 BC’ features a live reconstruction of a prehistoric boat, supported by rare objects never before seen in the UK.
And, 2012 wouldn’t be the same without an Olympic exhibition. Opening on 2 May is ‘Our Sporting Life – Sail for Gold’, an exhibition celebrating our British Olympic and Paralympic sailing heritage.
