Truro City Carnival is a celebration of everything Truro. Come along for music, colour, stalls, food, events and prizes! The city has a rich cultural heritage, fantastic music and dance groups, a thriving commercial sector and hundreds of voluntary and charitable organisations that do tireless work in the community.
On Carnival day, the streets of Truro come alive with the sights and sounds of a wonderful street festival to celebrate all the people, businesses and organisations that make the city such a great place to live and visit. Thousands of people attend and follow the carnival from its starting point at Hendra Park to Lemon Quay in the centre of the city.
Anyone can join in the Carnival, it’s a great chance to enter as a family and have some fun (An application form is available from the carnival website or from the Truro Tourist Information Centre) or get a good position on the route and watch the parade passing by. With music by marching bands, brass bands and even a bit of samba, the carnival is an explosion of colour and imagination with cute entries from the very young to spectacularly decorated floats.
