2020 Visit Cornwall Tourism Summit

Don’t miss out on Cornwall’s premier annual tourism conference and summit, being held on Tuesday 28th January 2020 at the Headland Hotel, Newquay.

The 2020 Visit Cornwall Tourism Summit will build on the success of previous summits which last year saw over 300 members of the industry come together for an inspirational and informative day.

This year’s summit will feature Will Higham as the keynote speaker, Will is the UK's leading consumer futurist, helping clients predict and satisfy their customer's needs, working with them to create profit-focused, future-proof strategies.

He helps clients anticipate and monetise future customer behaviour, looking at innovation, consumer behaviour and social and cultural trends. He runs a strategic consultancy called ‘The Next Big Thing’ with clients ranging from the BBC to Budweiser and is a popular speaker. We are excited to have him joining us as the keynote speaker at this years summit.

Malcolm Bell
CEO and Marketing Director of Visit Cornwall CIC, Malcolm works closely with the team to deliver the marketing strategy and delivery of the company. He is the key spokesman for destination Cornwall and represents and lobbies for the best interests of tourism in Cornwall
Stephen Darke
Has been Head of Tourism at the department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) since July 2017. During this time, he has overseen the departments work around the proposed Tourism Sector Deal.
Kurt Janson
Director of the Tourism Alliance, an umbrella trade association for the tourism and hospitality sector. It comprises over 50 industry associations that together represent UK business to lobby Government on issues that support UK tourism.
Thomas Chartres-Moore
Thomas specialises in intellectual property information technology and data protection for Stephens Scown. He will give an insight into some of the challenges around GDPR .

Adam Terpening
‘Room to Reward’ is a unique volunteer recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to hidden heroes, inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference. Director of the charity, Adam has over 30 years’ experience in the hotel industry including roles with Harbour Hotels, Macdonald Hotel and Forte Hotels.
Oscar White
Oscar will be introducing Beyonk, an online experience platform that Visit Cornwall are working with, to help visitors book experiences and activities ahead of their visit, or once they arrive in Cornwall.


Visit Cornwall will present on the results of the 2040 Tourism Futures, the comprehensive review detailing the development priorities for Cornish tourism and the industry over the next decade a beyond. This will be complimented by presentations from Visit Cornwall on its marketing, PR, travel trade, web and new booking system developments over the next 12 months.
