All the World's a stage...
We're not sure if any other part of the UK can compete with Cornwall when it comes to outdoor theatre? Mainly because ours is so good, we never bother venturing out of Cornwall to watch anything else! From The Minack with its fantastic backdrop of blue seas and the occasional basking shark, to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and its summer lawns and wild twisted woodlands, who could ask for better venues?
This summer, Cornwall once again has a wonderful line up of shows to entertain you. From classic comedy to heart breaking 1st World War dramas, from musicals about man eating plants to satirical karaoke... we have it all.
Here's a taster...
This summer, Miracle unpacks Chekhov’s bittersweet comedy The Cherry Orchard, about a once-wealthy family, whose idleness and extravagance have brought them to the brink of bankruptcy.
Obstinate and self-absorbed, they are deaf to the rumbling of change which surrounds them, and unable to accept help when they need it.
Will it take a revolution to destroy their cosy world of privilege and entitlement – or will their own stupidity be enough?
Bill Scott’s new adaptation treads a tragicomic tightrope, bringing out all the humour and pathos of Chekhov’s masterpiece which, more than a century after it was written, is as popular as ever.
So what are you waiting for? Gather your friends, pack up a picnic and catch Miracle at venue near you! www.miracletheatre.co.uk
