June events channeling the #CST vibe
Music, mayhem and mischief – it’s all going on in Cornwall this June. Here’s where to go to fill up on #CST goodness..
2nd – 4th June
Great Estate Festival, Scorrier
From major headline acts through to camel racing, secret Gin gardens, indulgent performances of the arts from across the globe, woodland silent discos and so much more. Expect the unexpected!
Looe Festival of the Sea
The whole of Looe comes together for this festival of the sea with everything from boat trips and pop-up exhibitions to the mayhem of the raft race and rock pooling sessions.
10th – 18th June
Polperro Music Festival
Includes plenty of live music, an arts and crafts fair, comedy night, dog show, duck race, colourful village carnival and the unique mock mayor choosing ceremony.
16th – 25th June
Golowan Festival, Penzance
One of the most colourful community festivals in the South West. Blending Cornish tradition with contemporary imagery and ritual, Golowan Festival brings the past and present together in a community celebration of the traditional midsummer Feast of St John. There’s a packed programme of artists in celebration of music, performing arts and theatre, as well as a fireworks display on the prom, Mazey Day, spectacular parades through the streets and a host of street entertainment.
16th – 18th June
Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival
A rousing maritime music festival which celebrates sea shanties, songs of the sea and Cornish songs. It’s one of the biggest in Europe and fills Falmouth with music, singing and a great community spirit.
16th – 17th June
Electric Breach Festival, Newquay
This two-day event combining live music, bellyboard competitions, fire shows and yoga is set to be one of the hottest beach parties to hit the Cornish coastline this summer. There will be a string of exciting acts, including headliners Badly Drawn Boy and Cuban Brothers.
17th – 18th June
Saltash Regatta and Waterside Festival
One of the most colourful and popular waterside festivals in South East Cornwall. You will find traditional gig rowing championships and fun rowing events as well as entertainment on the shore.
25th June – 1st July
Mevagissey Feast Week
Community festival packed full of entertainment. Crab catching on the harbour, fishing boat races, dance along the street in the traditional flora dance, swing your partner at the ceilidh or simply watch and enjoy.
30th June – 2nd July
Tunes in the Dunes, Perranporth
Set on the beautiful golden sands of Perranporth beach with a backdrop of scenic cliffs and sand dunes, this is a truly unique event where you can enjoy an ice cold beverage with your feet in the sand and the ocean only a stone’s throw away. There’s four epic stages spread between the watering hole and the end of Perranporth beach, each with it's own atmosphere and unique acts performing over the weekend.
