It might be a bit nippy out there, but wrap up warm and it’s still great to get out and enjoy all Cornwall has to offer. Here's what's on at the attractions.

Ice Skating and Christmas Fun at the Eden Project

Start the Christmas Celebrations early at Eden this November.  Throughout November you can go enjoy ice-skating with the whole family (the rink opens 15th October) after exploring the tropical biomes. To help you get into the festive spirit from the 25th November you can explore Eden’s special winter festival. You will be able to meet Father Christmas, as well as go behind the scenes of his grotto to discover the elves’ bunk beds and all the stockings laid out ready for the big day.

Celebrate Fireworks Night throughout Cornwall - 5 November

With firework displays and bonfires throughout the region you are spoilt for choice of where your family should spend the evening. You can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display in Bodmin or take part in a build your own Guy Fawkes competition in Truro. Find out more about what’s on from our recent blog post!

Torch Light Festival, St Austell -  Saturday 19 November

Celebrate the beginning of winter in St Austell at The Torchlight Festival. St. Austell comes alive for the celebrations with spectacular lanterns, samba bands and colourful floats to see. There is a whole day of entertainment for the whole family throughout the town, with stalls, music and dance and as it gets darker, the tremendous spectacle of the Torchlight Carnival parades through the town. The carnival attracts over 1000 people to join in the procession and continues to get bigger, brighter and better every year. 

Cornish Winter Fair, Wadebridge – Saturday 19 November

Come and celebrate all that's great about Cornish farming and food at The Cornish Winter Fair in Wadebridge on Saturday 19 November 2016. Children can enjoy seeing plenty of farm animals up close. There is also a food and farming educational discovery zone where you can learn more about local agriculture and food production. At the Cornish Winter fair enjoy the 'Have a Go' activities and try milking a (mock!) cow or grooming a pony. It'll be great fun for all of the family and a fantastic place to kick off your Christmas shopping. There will also be craft stalls selling fantastic locally created gifts.

Truro City of Lights  - 23 November

The fantastic Truro City of Lights parade is back for another year on the 23rd November from 7pm. The City of Lights procession includes music, dance, lanterns made by schools and community groups, and of course, the fantastic giant artist made lanterns. All the beautiful lanterns will amaze your children while you can enjoy the feast of music and dance available. This year’s theme is the Museum of Lost Stories, curated in partnership with Royal Cornwall Museum and the archives of the Royal Institution of Cornwall. Watch out for lanterns inspired by fascinating artifacts from our past. 

Hall For Cornwall, Truro – Shows throughout November

Throughout November there are many shows on at the Hall for Cornwall for all the family to enjoy. Discover the world of Science with the ‘Ministry of Science’ Show. This educational show will take you on a journey using brilliantly designed demonstrations with a few loud bangs on the way (Age Recommended 6+). You can also enjoy the new ‘Dynasty’ show from the internationally acclaimed Chinese State Circus. The show from start to finish is filled with thrills as what seems impossible becomes reality.

Timeline of Dynamic Discovery at the Telegraph Museum, Porthcurno

Meet the pioneers of global communication that made long distance messaging possible. Be transported to another time and place through interactive exhibits, immersive displays and live talks. Catch the Timeline of Dynamic Discovery exhibition before it leaves on the 30th November where you can discover a pre-digital world and find out how global communication began.

Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay  

Avoid the cold wintery weather in the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay. Spend a family day out exploring over 40 naturally themed habitats, which take you on a fantastic journey from Cornish waters to exotic seas.  Come and see freshwater turtles, pulsating jellyfish and the amazing pufferfish! It is just minutes away from Newquay Town Centre and is situated above beautiful Towan Beach .

Indoor Active, St Austell

Try something new at the brand new Indoor Active centre at Cornwall Services. The new Clip ‘n Climb is a safe and fun climbing experience, there are 13 climbing walls and 3 individual climbing challenges. The challenges on offer are suitable for ages 4+, and include The Leap of Faith, Stairway to Heaven and the Vertical Drop Slide.  For Children aged 0 to 11 there is also a three floor Soft Play which offers ball pools, a double slide for toddlers as well as rope bridges, climbing nets and a maze run.

Country Skittles, Hayle 

Discover this fantastic family entertainment centre this November. Enjoy a fun game of skittles; you can play in teams or individually to see who is the champion. You can also play mini crazy golf, air hockey, lots of videogames and more. Once your game is over you can eat at their restaurant which serves delicious freshly cooked meals at a wide range of prices to suit everyone.
