Famous for their fabulous tropical birds, the Park will be celebrating bugs and butterflies this half-term. A fun way to explore the amazing world of insect life. Search out the questions around Paradise Park to learn about colourful butterflies, barmy bugs and creepy insects in our Whitsun ‘Bug & Butterfly Quest’.
This year is a very special year for Newquay Zoo. On May 26th it will have been 50 years since the zoo officially opened its doors back in 1969. To commemorate such a significant occasion, we want to invite you to our very special celebration party which will be held on Sunday 26th May from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Expect 60's themed live music, games, activities, face painting, BBQ food, themed enrichment for our animals, special talks and much more. An event not to be missed.
The 2019 festival will take place in Cornwall's most popular visitor destination from Friday 24th May to Sunday 2nd June. This fantastic 10 day celebration is a not-for-profit community festival which encompasses over 150 events varying from music & drama, the arts & heritage to gig racing, swimming, walking & lots more. With its diverse mix of events taking place at dozens of locations around the Fal River, the festival offers something for everyone and is the perfect opportunity to engage with life on the river and discover some of its fascinating history.
Don’t miss the very exciting May half-term programme, when the wonderful Dick and Dom take up residency at Eden! Expect all the usual Dick and Dom shenanigans, fun activities for all the family, an amazing live Dick and Dom show daily, and of course… BOGIES!!!! Dick and Dom will be on stage every day during half-term, all included in Eden admission. The show is a unique comedy experience the whole family will never forget. The audience is split in half and the two sides battle it out with interactive games, songs and general insanity. On arrival at Eden families will be assigned to their different teams and enjoy a whole host of fun activities leading up to Dick and Dom’s appearance on stage.
This Folk Festival is a friendly mix of folk events held on the late May Bank Holiday weekend 24-27 May 2019. It features music, song, dance, and storytelling, a beer festival and a small programme of children’s events. The 2019 guest list so far... Geoff Lakeman, Granny's Attic, Si Barron, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Rob Murch & Michelle Holding, Lynne Heraud & Pat Turner, Georgia Lewis and Mick Ryan.
Hear weapons clash and feel the heat of battle as Pendennis Castle journey’s back to days of old. Watch brave knights do battle and prove your worth as a warrior as you don your armour and try out your combat skills 29th + 30th May.
During May Half Term celebrate the colours that spring brings to the St Michael's Mount's unique garden. The garden lawn will become a hub of crafty activity as we take inspiration from the colours and patterns of the plants and flowers in the Mount garden. Help create giant floor mandalas using our collection of beautiful natural materials such as pine cones, stones, shells, leaves and sticks.
This half term you and the family can enjoy a day of apple-mazing adventures at Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm. Join in with Healeys Farm Trail running everyday throughout the holidays (prize included) and take part in Healeys colouring competition, for a chance to win a bottle of juice of your choice! See our PINK orchards in blossom on a Big Bertha tractor ride and take a guided tour around the farm. Enjoy a delectable Cornish cream tea or hearty homemade lunch in The Old Bottlery Restaurant. Dogs are welcome to join the family fun on a lead.
There’s free parking and free entry into the farm and they are open from 9am.’
Wildlife workshops and advice, forage & feast, live music, street food, the animals of Feadon Farm Wildlife Centre, bird-ringing demonstrations with the Cornwall BTO, wild art, forest schools, welly-wanging! ... and other wildlife friends visiting from across Cornwall. Free entry, bring friends & family, and your best woodland animal, insect or marine-themed outfit. All welcome, bring a picnic rug and relax for the day.
