Penrose Hotel or Pentillie Castle?
Pentillie Castle features as the stunning Penrose Hotel in Sky 1’s drama series ‘Delicious’!
Starring alongside Dawn French, Emilia Fox and Iain Glen with stunning aerial shots of the 'Penrose Hotel' set above the River Tamar in Cornwall.
As the Sunday Times says, “Delicious shows a different side to the Cornwall, in which the sea is not spotted once. The opening shot, as Glen effects introductions in a voiceover, is a drone’s-eye view of rolling hills, through which the Tamar cuts a meandering path under train viaducts on its stately way to Plymouth Sound.”
Delicious’s production team took full advantage of the terraced gardens, woodland valleys and river frontage at Pentillie Castle, and have used every nook and cranny through which to develop the storyline. Not only have they kept away from the Cornish seascape, but the production is filmed almost entirely in South East Cornwall – bringing attention to the wonderful Tamar Valley.
If you want to find out more about this glorious corner of Cornwall, not only can you stay at the Penrose Hotel, but you can also explore many of the locations in and around the Tamar Valley.
