Higher Trevinnick Farm
The two spacious detached family cottages – Owl Barn and Fox Den – are tucked beside the farmyard in a peaceful, secluded location just seven miles from the delightful market town of Wadebridge and the coastal beauty spots of Rock, Port Isaac (filming location for Doc Martin!), Padstow and Polzeath.
There has been a farm here for centuries, its history etched throughout the buildings in traditional Cornish stone walls and Delabole slate – a perfect location for a memorable family farm holiday.
Both Owl Barn and Fox Den enjoy spectacular far-reaching views over the farmland, and are furnished to the highest standards with every modern convenience to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. They are fully double-glazed with oil-fired central heating (between October and May) and with the exception of towels, all linen is provided including duvets, with beds made up for your arrival. Both cottages have plenty of space to accommodate at least one cot which, together with high chairs, are available by prior request.
In the barns and nearby fields are our friendly farm animals - ponies, horses, cows, goats, pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, peacocks and pets galore - all great favourites with the families who visit us year after year. Children adore the freedom of Higher Trevinnick as well as the company of Farmer James – join him every morning feeding the animals, walking the dogs, collecting the eggs and helping with jobs in the farmyard. Grooming and riding the pony, having a tractor ride and simply playing on the farm are wonderful diversions for the children whilst you relax or prepare for your day out – that’s if you’re not out enjoying the farm with them!
Higher Trevinnick Farm is designed to accommodate all – from child friendly animal enclosures and an educational conservation trail to secluded areas around the farm for that “get away” feeling. Enjoy pleasant walks through the fields down to the river, the profusion of wild flowers in the hedgerows and the abundance of wildlife in its natural habitat - so relaxing after a days beaching or sightseeing. Most of the farm is accessible on foot including with kiddies buggy.
There are no extra charges whatsoever during your stay with us, including for the farm activities, and your own well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
