...Kudhva (Cornish for hideout) is set in a 45-acre disused quarry. Left untouched for decades, the site is now home to willow groves, gorse bushes and wild flowers, existing in harmony with mountainous slate stacks. The quarry pit is now a hidden lake fed by a waterfall and the southern edge of the site provides a stone walled wild swimming reservoir.
Kudhva allows you to immerse yourself in the rugged Cornish landscape, the slate piles frame the sea and Gull Rock nestled at the bottom of the valley. As a totally off-grid site, the dream was to create a new campsite and accommodation experience which takes you away from the everyday, celebrates the sustainable and encourages you to get back to nature, while also relaxing.
We have four specially designed KUDHVA - two person geometric cabins on stilts, each offering their own secluded slice of this ever-changing environment.
We have 5 Treetents - two person tents rigged above the ground, swinging between the trees like hammocks.
We have our Carlsberg Bar & Cabin – a six berth cabin with a hydro-powered beer pump (fully stocked for guests) set at the top of our waterfall.
Kudhva is open for guests from April – October each year. As a self-catering site the communal kitchen comes equipped for you to use and the reception building, toilets & showers provide all you need to step away from the everyday and immerse yourself in the wild.
