It is bordered by Cornish hedges attracting an abundance of wildlife including foxes, badgers, rabbits, buzzards, owls and swallows.
There are distant views of the Atlantic Ocean to the South and Penwith Peninsula to the West showcasing spectacular sunsets. North of the site is Tregonning Hill, a rewarding climb, with panoramic views of the surrounding areas and further afield to Mounts Bay, Falmouth, St Agnes Beacon & St Ives. They are also close to many of the coastal locations featured in BBC's Poldark. The nearest beach is Praa Sands 1.5 miles away.
There is a pub in Ashton Village serving pub grub and local ales and another in the nearby village of Breage which serves excellent home made dishes using local produce, a variety of wines and local ales.
Spacious touring pitches, some with Electric Hook Up. Bell Tents provided fully equipped. Bespoke Shepherd's Hut with private wet room & garden, sleeps 2.
Showers are hot and FREE. Hair dryers are provided in the ladies. There is a disabled/family room available.
There is a washing up room with access to a freezer for ice packs and a small laundry room with 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers for guests to use, and where wet suits can be hung to dry.
There is Wi-Fi covering the entire site. Tickets can be purchased on site and vary from £3 for one device for one day to £20 for 2 devices for 1 week. During peak season the site shop is open, selling local eggs, milk, fresh locally baked bread and a range of essentials. Their butcher in Helston supplies top quality locally reared free range bacon & sausages and BBQ packs can also be ordered.

They have spacious touring pitches, some have Electric Hook up (EHU). These are spread across four fields so there is space to enjoy peace and quiet, unwind and allow children to play.
The shower block is in the centre of the site, showers are Free and hot water is plentiful. There is one large shower room for disabled guests and baby changing.
Families and couples welcome, dogs on leads are permitted.
They have 5 metre Bell Tents available to rent from Mid April until September.
The Bell Tent consists of one large room however in addition to the Bell Tent they also provide a Dining Shelter where you can sit, cook, eat and enjoy the views, even in inclement weather. The tents are furnished with 1x double futon or luxury double mattress, air beds for additional guests, small handpainted tables, rugs, cushions, tealight chandeliers with candles. Free wifi.
Camping equipment provided:-
Fridge, cooker with gas, pots and pans, plates, bowls, cups, wine glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils, washing up equipment, lantern, BBQ & tools, table & chairs/picnic bench.
The Shepherds Hut has the best position on the campsite with stunning sea views.
Designed and kitted out for 2 people. It is the perfect spot for a get away from it all holiday, a romantic break or Mini-Moon.
Inside there is a King Size bed area with luxury mattress raised up to take full advantage of the vista.
All bedding is supplied and included in price, there are feather filled pillows and duvet, plus woollen blankets and throws for those chilly nights!
There is a well equipped kitchen area with fridge, mini oven/grill, hob, kettle, crockery, glasses, utensils, cooking pots and pans. A fold down table is fitted in the Hut with two Elm chairs to use to dine inside. A wood-burning stove is fitted at one end of the Hut and wood is supplied for burning. Includes free use of campsite wi-fi.
Outside there is a small garden screened with bamboos and hedging and a shower/toilet shack, a BBQ and garden furniture will also be provided
