Originally a farm, Hallagenna Cottages still maintains its rural character with horses grazing in the paddocks whilst sharing their fields with wild rabbits, which can be easily spotted amongst the grass. A wealth of wildlife can also be found grazing the adjacent moor, including moorland ponies, cattle and sheep. Hallagenna Cottages is situated ½ mile from the village of St.Breward, which offers a shop, post office and an 18th century pub/restaurant.
Ladydown Cottage is a single storey renovated farm building, situated right on the edge of its namesake, the beautiful Ladydown Moor. So close that you can watch the wild ponies graze from your living room window. With its exposed beams, log burner and 2 Bedrooms, this cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests.
Delphy Cottage is named after the nearby Delford Bridge on Bodmin Moor, a pretty stone bridge and popular picnic location just a short walk away. Old Barn Cottage is located on the site of an old barn. Both cottages have been recently built, and sympathetically designed, to maintain many of the rural characteristics of old Cornish cottages with the benefits of modern design. Both Delphy and Old Barn are single storey cottages with exposed beams and have an open plan living area and 2 bedrooms. They offer one double bed and one captain's bed with pull out guest bed, making Delphy and Old Barn ideal for couples, families with children or three adults. These cottages can accommodate up to 4 guests.
Old Brock Cottage was formerly a farm building and retains many of its original features, such as traditional Cornish stone walls and exposed beams. With its quirky reverse design conversion, it offers an open plan first floor living and dining area and ground floor bedrooms. The cottage includes a log burner, as 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 4 guests.
Old Dairy Cottage was once a milking parlour, and has been tastefully converted to provide single storey accommodation. In addition to the exposed beams, traditional thick stone walls and a log burner, this character cottage has its own private access and parking. Old Dairy Cottage has 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 3 guests.
All cottages (with the exception of Old Brock) are dog friendly (maximum of 2 dogs per cottage). Bodmin Moor, which is adjacent to the cottages, offers fantastic and varied dog walking. In addition, information on dog friendly beaches is provided in the cottage welcome folders.
Hallagenna Cottages is on ‘route 3’ of the National Cycle network, whilst The Camel Trail, which starts nearby, offers a more leisurely cycling experience as it follows a disused railway line from Wenford Bridge, following the River Camel, through Wadebridge, all the way to Padstow on the North Cornish Coast.
All cottages have their own designated parking area and enclosed patios.
In addition to the above, Hallagenna Cottages include:-
Wi-Fi access, linen and towels, central heating (timings vary through the season), television and DVD player, wall mounted televisions in main bedrooms, washer/dryer and BBQ.
