Comfortable, reasonably-priced character cottage in Stratton, Bude - DOGS GO FREE! Concessions avail - please ask.
Stratton, by the River Neet or Strat, is a small village (once an important town) of historic interest on the outskits of Bude. It's an ideal spot for those who want to be near the facilities of Bude, with its beautiful beaches, canal, leisure activities, great variety of cafes and restaurants and various shops, but prefer a place to stay that enables them to come away from the bustle of the small but popular seaside town.
4 Bideford Mews is a two bedroom cottage in a mews of five cottages converted from the outbuildings of the old 'Bideford Inn' and accessed from the street through a metal gateway. The downstairs living area is open plan, with a settee, a double bed-settee and armchair - together with a smart TV - at one end, and a dining table and chairs at the other, with a fully equipped kitchen area off. Upstairs is a bathroom - loo, basin and bath with shower over, a small double bedroom with double bed, and a larger double bedroom with king size bed. Utilities, bedding and towels are included. Fibre-optic broadband gives reception throughout the cottage. There is a small area of garden.
The village shop & PO is a few yards away from the cottage, as are the two historic pubs, both of which have indoor and outdoor seating and serve food.
Parking is on street, but as Stratton’s streets are narrow you might prefer the free car park, which is just a couple of minute’s walk from the property, as is the bus stop.
Bude is a half-hour (footpath) walk or a 10 min bus ride or drive (depending on traffic)
