Delamere Self Catering Bungalows
Situated about 2 miles from the coast, near the village of Delabole on the B3314, there are 16 bungalows set in peaceful and secluded surroundings on a part of our 14 acres, approached by the 'old farm lane'. You are likely to hear sheep bleating in the neighboring fields, or the owl hooting at dusk and see the rabbits at play early morning.
All the bungalows have the same layout with 2 bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/living area and a bathroom with separate toilet. The bungalows are ideally suited to accommodate a family of four with one double and one twin room. Some of the bungalows also have a double sofa bed in the lounge area to accommodate up to 2 more people.
In the lounge area there is a large picture window to enjoy the wonderful views and a colour television/dvd player to relax in front of after a hectic day! The kitchen area has all the usual self catering fixtures including a cooker, fridge and microwave. There is a bath and electric shower in the bathroom.
It is an ideal 'get away from it all' base for a holiday with beautiful sandy beached and spectacular scenery. Visitors enjoy exploring and discovering this unspoilt haven of Cornwall. The bungalows are built in pairs and are of a brick, cavity wall and tiled roof construction, with panoramic views over looking the Allen Valley. There is an open plan lounge/kitchen (29ftx9ft approx.), 2 bedrooms (9ftx9ft approx.) and a small lobby leading to the bathroom and separate toilet.
Outside, there is plenty of space for the family to relax or play, with paths leading across the grass from the upper and lower rows of bungalows to the car park.
Delamere was once a farm, and although not working now, we still have a barn and out buildings on the property, and our two large fields are used for grazing.
Delabole is about half a mile away and has grocery stores, newsagents, post office , garage pub and restaurant.
The local, sandy beaches are all with in an easy drive. Trebarwith Strand, Polzeath, Rock and Daymer Bay are perfect for bathing, surfing, sailing and playing sandcastles with the children. Discover Port Isaac - a quaint fishing village, Tintagel Castle, Boscastle harbour, or St. Nectan's Glen and Waterfall. Enjoy a round of golf at St.Enodock, or pony trekking from nearby stables - a fun way to see the countryside. The Eden project is approximately 30 minutes drive. The coastal and moorland footpaths, many National Trust owned, offer a scenery of wild flowers, bird life and the outstanding natural beauty of North Cornwall.
The kitchen area is equipped with cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery and cooking utensils. An immersion heater, shaver point and electric meter are in the lobby and in the lounge area a convector fire and colour T.V.
The bungalow sleeps 4 people with one double bed, two single beds and some have a sofa bed in the lounge for a 5th / 6th person. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided. Please bring bed linen, towels and tea towels. A travel cot maybe available on request.
