It is the perfect base for exploring the Lizard and West Cornwall. The Granary, Long Barn and Hayloft are set in a sunny enclosed courtyard and each sleep 4/5. Tregathenan House has its own peaceful garden and sleeps up to 6. There’s a playbarn and alpacas to meet.
Tregathenan is situated at the end of a private drive ‘away from it all’ yet ‘in the middle of it all’. The granite cottages have been thoughtfully converted to provide accommodation for four to six people, each to a different design retaining elements of their original charm and character. All the cottages are equipped to a very high standard and centrally heated throughout. There is ample private parking.
We have a Visitor Centre/Playroom, with lots of information available about the local area. There is a wide selection of toys, books and games, including table football, to entertain our younger visitors. There are 5 acres to explore, and our friendly ducks, chickens, alpacas and other small animals to meet.
From our position near the ancient market town of Helston, Tregathenan is the perfect base for visiting the many local beaches and gardens, and for coastal and rural walks and bike rides. The Helston railway restoration project is within walking distance. We offer a pick-up/drop-off service for SWCP walkers.
The Hayloft is a cosy two-storey cottage providing accommodation for up to four people. Downstairs you will find an open plan lounge/dining room, with a separate door opening onto your own terrace area, and a well-appointed kitchen. The modern tiled ground floor bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower. Upstairs are two delightful dormer style bedrooms, offering views across the fields to the sea around Porthleven.
The Long Barn is a detached single level cottage, popular with younger families guests who prefer accommodation without stairs. The cottage has a spacious lounge with feature fireplace, dining area and a well-equipped shaker-style kitchen with microwave, electric oven, halogen hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge. The pretty master bedroom features a four-poster bed and patio doors lead onto your own seating area. Just the place for that well earned 'sun downer' or breakfast 'alfresco'. The second bedroom contains twin beds. The family bathroom has a bath for that long soak at the end of the day, and a walk-in shower.
The Granary, nestles between The Hayloft and the owner’s 17th century farmhouse. The well-equipped kitchen has a range of modern appliances including fridge, gas cooker, washer/drier and dishwasher. The dining room has a French door which opens onto the terrace where you can enjoy meals under the glorious Cornish sun. Through the dining room is the cosy lounge with a feature fireplace. Upstairs, the light and airy master bedroom has windows to the front and rear affording splendid views over the surrounding countryside. The second bedroom has three pine beds, making the Granary ideal for the larger family or group. Upstairs there is a family bathroom with bath and shower over, and a separate cloakroom downstairs.
Tregathenan House is our newest addition and is a period property offering spacious and comfortable accommodation for 6 people in 3 double/twin bedrooms. Downstairs there is a lovely kitchen/diner with a large gas range cooker, fridge/feezer, microwave and dishwasher. The utility room contains a washer/dryer. There is a log burner in the snug, and the light and spacious lounge has a flame effect fire and lovely views out to the garden. Upstairs there is a family bathroom with bath and shower. Two of the bedrooms also have en-suite shower rooms. The House has its own established garden set to lawn and shrubs and a gravelled patio/BBQ area.
