The Riverside at Helford Creek

Welcome to The Riverside, Helford

A truly special place to spend time with family/friends. This charming cottage style house is set in pretty terraced gardens in picturesque Helford. The village, with its quaint white washed cottages, sits either side of the creek which runs directly into the wonderful, sheltered and beautiful waters of the Helford river (the house does not have water frontage).

The village boasts a shop, a delightful pub, the Holy Mackerel Cafe and a sailing club.

Relaxing at The Riverside comes easy but there are also plenty of things to do in the area (when you make an enquiry you will be sent a list of “things to do” in and around The Lizard). If staying in is a preference, you can hunker down in the sitting room in front of the open fire, or laze on one of the 2 terraces, or play some games and jigsaws from the well stocked cupboard.

    Amenities

    • Linen provided
    • Group Visits
    • Rural & Countryside
    • Sea View

The spacious open plan kitchen/dining room has an Aga, an electric cooker, a granite island unit, a large fridge and a sink; in the back kitchen there is double sink, a dishwasher, another large fridge and a freezer. But one of the best features is the fabulous extending wooden dining table. So many happy meals have been enjoyed around it!

There are 6 pretty, double/twin bedrooms (+ two small bunk rooms) each with its own en-suite facilities (see the Room Plan for more details). Each bedroom is equipped with a radio, hairdryer and a television. The Cottage Rooms (which are in the building above the main house) are a popular choice for couples with children as they have the bunks off the main bedroom.

Between April and October (and subject to weather conditions of course) the 2 boats (“Camilla James”, a Cygnus 19’ fishing boat + “Hot Flushing” its tender) can be used to explore the wonders of the river, its delightful creeks and beaches. Sailaway St Anthony, who run the boats, will give you a "Boat Briefing" on your first morning and will lend you life jackets/buoyancy aids.

If you hanker after a complete rest, you can ask the owners to put you in touch with someone to do the cooking for you.

The Riverside is a very welcoming house. When you arrive you will find your beds made up with freshly laundered sheets, white towels and fragrant toiletries in all the bathrooms. Plus a welcome Pack and flowers on the dining table.
