Portscatho Beach

Portscatho beach is a small, east-facing shore backed by the coastal village of Portscatho on the unspoilt Roseland Peninsula within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Sheltered within Gerrans Bay, Portscatho, which means, ‘Rowing Boat Harbour’ in Cornish, is mainly rocky, with sandy patches, stretching all the way to the golden sands of Porthcurnick Beach at low tide. The South West Coast Path runs through the small village with its quaint quay and old stone jetty, still home to several local fishing boats.

Please note: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 1st July and 31st August (10am-6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place. (2023)
