Christmas Shopping In Cornwall

From the Blog

Cornwall has many leading chain stores and popular high street shops. But that’s not usually why people opt to do their Christmas shopping in Cornwall. Instead, visitors choose to shop in the Duchy to find unique gifts in our independent shops and boutiques. Not sure where to start? We’ve put together a Christmas shopping guide for you.

Artwork & Crafts

Looking for an imaginative present for someone special? Cornwall is the place to be for galleries, potteries and craft shops, so you can be sure to find that precious and memorable gift. The Art Space Gallery in St Ives is positioned right on the harbourside and sells everything from glassware and ceramics to water colours and acrylics. Jo Downs Glass has galleries in St Ives, Padstow and Fowey, as well as the working studio and gallery in Launceston. Her range of gorgeous glassware includes jewellery, coasters, bowls, hangings and inspirational gifts, alongside her much sought-after statement interior pieces. Jeremy Sanders Studio near Penzance features bold oil paintings, often of the Cornish coast. There are lots of other beautiful galleries all across the county, but we would recommend St Ives, Padstow and Fowey as good starting points. If you want to create a personalised gift, try Star Glazers Pottery Painting Café in Falmouth and use paints, stencils and stamps to create an original piece of pottery.

Independent Boutiques

For fashion fanatics, Cornwall has a plethora of independent shops and stylish boutiques for individual clothing and accessories. In the county’s only city of Truro, there is an excellent choice of independent shops. Stolen From Susie sells beautiful clothes, scarves and handbags at affordable prices; Busby & Fox sells gorgeous clothes, furniture and fresh flowers; and Tootsie & Tiger is a vintage boutique with a carefully curated collection of clothes from the 1920's onwards. Likewise, the bustling harbour town of Falmouth has an exciting mix of independent retailers such as Coast Casuals, Wild Pony, Secrets and Dizzy. Find out more about shopping in Falmouth here.
