The Golden Lion’s Main Menu offers a mouthwatering choice of over 20 main courses, plus starters and desserts, all homemade on the premises using the best of local ingredients. The main menu offers plenty of classic dishes, such as Steak, Real Ale & Kidney Pie with Chips and Steamed Vegetables, to Fillet of Cornish Beef Wellington with Madeira Sauce, Breast of Honey Glazed Barbary Duck with a Port and Plum Sauce, and Steamed Fillet of Sea Bass with Crayfish Tails and Lemon Butter. Prices range from £7-95 to £19.95 for Main Courses, £3.95 to £6.50 for Starters and £4.25 to £5.95 for Homemade Desserts.
The Light Summer Lunch Menu is available at lunchtimes in addition to the Main Menu and has a strong emphasis on Fresh Salads with a choice of styles and toppings, Free Range Egg Omelettes and interestingly filled Baguettes. For younger diners the Golden Cubs Menu has plenty of tasty, “proper food” on offer. St. Austell Ales are kept to the highest Cask Marque standards at The Golden Lion and the Wine List offers over 20 New World and European Wines, with many by the glass or half bottle. For coffee lovers the Lavazza Coffee Menu offers freshly ground beans to rival the well known high street chains. There is even Free WiFi Broadband in The Bar and Snug so you can “Surf while you Sip”!
