Set in the quiet village of Antony, The Carew Arms brings high-quality and affordable cooking to the Rame Peninsula. The kitchen is headed by BBC’s Great British Menu winner and The Fat Duck alumna, Emily Watkins whose focus is on seasonal, local produce. A private dining room, farm shop and café and modern, light interior make The Carew Arms the ideal village pub.
Head chef Jack Clayton and Emily work to change the menu every season, bringing the best of what Cornwall and the local area produces to create supremely tasty dishes. The menu is split into Starters, Classics (more traditional pub fare) and Main Courses, which allow for more innovative culinary flourishes. To complement the food the cleverly-chosen wine list looks to bring inexpensive and slightly more unusual wines. The food menu pairs the best of the wines by the glass with each of the starter and main courses. They also have a Cornish Craft Beer Menu with almost 50 different local beers, complete with tasting notes.
Upstairs is The Loft, the pub’s private dining room with exposed beams and the original stonework. Seating parties of up to 24 or they can cater for 35 standing it makes it the perfect place to hold a function.
Downstairs is a farm shop and café, which draws in the finest products from around Cornwall, from chocolate to spices and is the perfect place to pick up a gift or two.
