New for 2019, hot on the heels of last September’s opening of the vibrant new Indian restaurant ‘Dakku’, comes husband and wife chefs Ben Martin and Jasmine Sharma’s newest offering: An Indian themed Gin and Cocktail Bar situated in the same quirky location beside the river inside a working boatyard on Islington Wharf.
The 'Durbar’ which is a Persian word for the ‘Inner Sanctum of a Royal Court’ promises to be a real game changer for the Falmouth and Penryn party set.
Discerning drinkers in search of a dash of Eastern exoticism at the bottom of their glasses can enjoy a small yet carefully curated collection of tipples including Daaku takes on classic cocktails such as the Imli Mojito made with rum, tamarind and palm sugar or a Cardamom infused G&T. Alongside the more familiar cocktails, customers can relish some exciting in-house concoctions which use the flavours of Indian cuisine as their basis.
And as if that’s not enough, you can stave off the hunger pangs with a choice of six delicate tapas style nibbles called ‘chakna’. These will change from week to week and are designed to harmonise with the flavours of drinks on offer.
