Visit Cornwall promotes a range of events to attract visitors and enhance their stay. At the moment we are unable to promote every event that takes place so to guide you we have applied the following types and selection criteria:
Major events: of county significance, capable of attracting visitors to Cornwall and influencing their visit. Brings in more than £1m to the Cornish economy through direct economic benefits and/or attracts significant media attention.
Hallmark/larger events: of county significance attracting a minimum of 2,000 visitors, including out of county visitors, and has the potential for national media coverage.
Community or local events: with an appeal to a wider geographic area which attract local interest and visitors (these will be included at Visit Cornwall’s discretion).
Other events: those of interest to the media to reinforce the profile of Cornwall (these will be included at Visit Cornwall's discretion).
Our website aims to provide high quality information to visitors to help them research and plan their holiday and have the best time possible while they're here. We only publish accurate information with high-quality images.
What we need to publish an event on the What's On section:
- Copy: a brief description of the event, plus title, contacts for further info and dates
- Images: up to 10 high quality landscape format .jpg images
- Video: if you have one published on YouTube, please provide the link
Information must be received at least one month in advance of the event date, preferably longer
Visit Cornwall reserves the right to determine which events are promoted
Visit Cornwall holds the editorial rights for the content of the website. Your entry may be re-written in our house style, we reserve the right to use different images and videos if we find ones of better quality

Where else to publicise your events
For smaller events that cannot be published on the What’s On Calendar you will find Tourist Information Centres will promote local and community events on their websites, full details of all centres in Cornwall and how to contact them can be found on our maps section. Cornwall Council website also displays an event calendar.
Members of Visit Cornwall
We can add information about your news and special events to a dedicated tab on your existing entry on our website, just email details to firstname.lastname@example.org in plenty of time to get it published, and remember to keep it up to date.
To really maximise publicity for your event, we also have range of Banner & Sponsored Feature adverts available on the website, with discounted rates available for Visit Cornwall members and discounts for block bookings.
