Visit Cornwall Board Member and Managing Director, Fal River
Tell us about your day job. What does it entail?
I am lucky to be able to spend most of my days mucking about in boats on and around the wonderful River Fal. We have a great team at Fal River Cornwall and I enjoy working with them to make the Fal River product special for our local users and visitors.
What’s the most inspiring thing about your workplace?
The land and seascapes and how they constantly change with season and weather.
What do you love most about Cornwall?
The natural environment, the feeling of space and time, mostly being able to work and live in a place that so many people want to visit.
Why have you joined the Visit Cornwall board?
The visitor economy is incredibly important to Cornwall to our services, employment and the overall economy. I believe that with my experience with the Fal River Cornwall project I can help to bring some positives to how the Visit Cornwall brand is taken forward.
What do you hope Visit Cornwall CIC will achieve?
We have a great team in place and with them I would like to see Cornwall maintain it’s position as the UK’s favourite holiday destination, increase year round visitor numbers and attract more oversees visitors whilst at the same time working with Cornwall Council and others to improve the public product, transport, cleanliness and facilities. We cannot afford to be complacent and must ensure that this years visitors become regular visitors in the future and bring family and friends with them!
