A creative dimension has been added to the Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta by the support of Falmouth University as Event Sponsor of the 2014 celebration.
With campuses at Falmouth and Penryn, and a heritage spanning over 100 years, Falmouth University is a longstanding investor in the region and enthusiastic about this latest show of support.
Lorna Sullivan, Head of Recruitment and Outreach explains, “Becoming an event sponsor for Tall Ships 2014 is such an exciting opportunity for the University, we are proud to be associated with such a major international event. We are dedicated to working with the local community and Cornish businesses and this event involves both in the beautiful surroundings of Falmouth.”
Responsible for improving knowledge and understanding of studying the arts at Higher Education level, Falmouth’s UK Recruitment and Outreach department provides a bridge between the University and the local and wider community. Offering a calendar of high quality art, design, media, performance and writing activities, the team provides opportunities for school pupils, college students and community groups to engage in creativity.
Recent University outreach initiatives include Saturday Art Clubs for 14 -19 year olds as well as further involvement in local community events and festivals such as Falmouth Spring Festival, Love Parks Week, Fal River Festival, Penryn Arts Week, The Big Draw and Global Gardens.
