Press release: Vote for Cornwall

A seventh year as the UK’s favourite holiday destination is in Cornwall’s grasp and Visit Cornwall is calling on all those with a soft spot for the county to help secure the title by voting in the British Travel Awards 2015.

Cornwall has held the UK holiday crown since 2009 and has shunned competition from across the country for an impressive six years, with Northumberland and Devon as the most recent runner-ups.

Voting is now open for the 2015 edition of the Awards, signalling the start of the annual battle to turn the love of visitors and locals into votes.

“It’s a tremendous feat to have six years under our belt but we never take the next year for granted. Cornwall works hard for tourism and there are countless precious reasons to love it, so lets repay Cornwall and keep the crown where it belongs,” comments Malcolm Bell, Chief Executive of Visit Cornwall.

“Whether you have fond memories of Cornwall from childhood holidays, are a regular visitor, or live and work here, Cornwall needs your vote.”

Bolstering Cornwall’s chances further in the British Travel Awards are the Eden Project and National Maritime Museum Cornwall who are up for Best UK Leisure Attraction and Heritage Attraction respectively. Bude is also in the running for Best UK Coastal Resort.

Vote at by 30th September and be in with a chance of winning top travel prizes in the prize draw.
