Minions

Minions, Bodmin Moor & Tamar Valley, Cornwall, Poldark Film Location

Minions is the highest village in Cornwall, situated on the south east side of Bodmin Moor, and home to the Hurlers Stone circle. Set in dramatic landscape, Minions and the surrounding area is a perfect location for walking the Moors. Many will recognise Minions from its starring role in the 2015 remake of Poldark, where it featured as the iconic crossroads where Ross first dismounts the carriage on homecoming. The cast and crew found themselves on Bodmin Moor for a large part of their time in Cornwall. Scenes featuring the exterior of Ross Poldark’s cottage, Nampara, were shot here along with many capturing the cast on horseback.  With a rugged character and wild streak, Bodmin Moor provides the perfect backdrop to Poldark’s plot of passion and family dramatics.
