A long sweep of dramatic coastal heathland with stark clifftop mine ruins looked after by the National Trust. With access to Wheal Cotes via the coast path it is home to dramatic views and close by Chapel Porth beach.

St Agnes is owned and looked after by the National Trust and is able to care and conserve areas like this, thanks to their members, volunteers and donors. Car park free to National Trust members.

This area has enjoyed a taste of Hollywood where iconic the engine houses that perch serenely on the cliff-tops offering a silent reminder of Cornwall’s mining heyday. A natural location choice, it doubles as Nampara Valley in the BBC's adaption of Poldark. See Poldark film locations here
