Kernow Adventure Park
Kernow Adventure Park is a flawless fit for family days out in Cornwall. It’s an outdoor adventure centre, a social sanctuary and a safe playground set on a secret, freshwater lake sunk deep into the earth between Falmouth and Helston. With activities on land and water for the fun-searchers and a lakeside clubhouse, cafe and bar for the comfort- seekers, this is your wedge of utopia.
Kernow Adventure Park is set in a 21-acre site around a disused granite quarry near Falmouth. Eat, drink and watch the action from our glass-fronted clubhouse, cafe, bar and shop at Kessel Quarry; with full disabled access.
It’s not just the activities that are off the wall, they’ve gone overboard to make sure you’re safe on the lake and the land. When you are on the water, you’re never more than 150 metres from the shore, and there’s always a rescuer nearby, wether on a stand-up paddle board, rescue board or jetski. Wetsuits, impact vests and helmets (where necessary) are also standard. And, whether you are relaxing, playing or training hard on land, a first aider will always be on hand throughout the site.
This is the best place to go wakeboarding in Cornwall. Here’s why: Kernow Adventure Park is the only UK wakeboard centre set on a freshwater lake inside a quarry. With two cables, eight obstacles and top-level coaching you can chose your level of extreme. And, with a cafe, bar and shop, you can go full power then sit back in full comfort and take in the astounding, natural setting.
Cable tow systems have opened this sport up to the masses. They use the Sesitec System 2.0, which has an overhead cable strung over the water between two pulleys and an electric motor which drives the cable back and forth. It slows down at each end of the lake allowing the rider to change direction and have a continuous ride. Your cable operator, or ‘driver,’ has complete control of your speed at all times, making it safe for the beginner and easy to ramp up the difficulty for seasoned riders.
This year they’ve added a second cable across the lake, plus extra kickers and transfers including a Red Bull fun box, A-frame box rail, Unit pipe and wedge kicker. We also sell food, drinks, boards and wetsuits in our new glass-fronted clubhouse.
Nothing brings smiles to faces faster than this bouncy castle-style circuit. Bounce, slide and climb on this 60-metre, floating, inflatable assault course at one end of the lake. Free-fall slides, trampolines, a jungle joe and narrow, slippery platforms will keep your party engaged for 60 minutes, and there’s room for up to 30 people at the same time. Ultra-low-profile platforms make it easy to get back on at any station – and, believe us, you will fall off more than once (that’s part of the fun). In the Wipeout circuit, there will be a minimum of one staff member for every 10 slipping, sliding custom
