For 35 years Kneehigh have created vigorous, popular and challenging theatre, with a joyful anarchy. We have performed everywhere from village halls to castles, disused quarries to conventional stages all over the world.
From our breath-taking barns in Cornwall we create theatre of humanity on an epic and tiny scale. Led by Artistic Director Mike Shepherd, we work with an ever-changing bunch of talented and like-minded perfomers, artists, makers and musicians and are passionate about the creative process.
The Asylum, a beautiful nomadic structure, is home to theatre, fun and good old-fashioned Kneehigh knees-ups. The annual pop-up will be back at a new site within on the beach at Carlyon Bay in 2019.
Alongside major productions and tours we also run the Kneehigh Rambles - fun adventures and magical events with communities in Cornwall and beyond. You can download our new Walk With Me app, and explore Cornwall in a new way. Hear stories collected from surfers, pub landladies, young mothers, fishermen, tattoo artists, museum volunteers – and everybody else we met along the way.
