Eden Project's Spectacular Science Week

10th - 18th February 2024

Joined by the UK’s favourite science show, Ministry of Science, and popular YouTube channel, Kids Invent Stuff, February half term promises to be a jampacked week of explosive science experiments and weird and wonderful technology.

The marvellous Ministry of Science team are bringing their famous live show to Eden’s Mediterranean Biome, where they’ll take a deep dive into the world of science and how it shapes the world we live in. They’ll also be hosting workshops where kids can have a go at creating their own science experiments.

Popular YouTube channel, Kids Invent Stuff, will be bringing some of their wackiest creations to Eden, including a slime-launching robot, a seed-shooting carrot car and Maria Croc-bot, the lawn-mowing crocodile.

Eden’s young visitors stand a chance to see one of their own inventions come to life as Kids Invent Stuff are on the hunt for their 100th invention to create. Ideas can be submitted at the Idea Station throughout the half term period.

The week of science continues with a Discovery Zone in the Dome tent, with drop-in experiments and demonstrations that explore the ways we can make, eat and travel more sustainably. Families can find out about the potential benefits of eating insects and taste a salt and vinegar cricket, test the laws of physics and create innovative new materials.

Visitors can also enjoy their final glide of the season on the ice rink, with family-friendly, toddler sessions and lessons available to book online.

Relaxed Ministry of Science workshop sessions will be available on Tuesday 13 and Saturday 17 at 10:30 am and 2:00 pm for those who’d benefit from an environment with fewer people and those with autism, sensory or communication needs. There is a charge of £1 per ticket for workshops, to be pre-booked online.

The kids go free offer applies to one child aged 5 - 16 per adult. Pre-booking advised. Children under five enjoy free entry as standard.
