Explosive Family Half Term Fun at National Maritime Museum Cornwall

February half term is set to arrive with a BANG at National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Running every day of the school holiday, Science of the Sea promises an explosive family show, craft workshops, and a museum trail that will ignite young imaginations.

    Wonderstruck Forces and Energy Show

Science of the Sea runs from Saturday February 10 to Sunday February 18, and is free as part of the Museum’s annual admission fee.

The Wonderstruck Forces & Energy Show will answer fascinating questions such as how boats, ships and submarines move, how they produce necessary forces, and where their energy comes from. Buckle up for a 25-minute perambulation through the world of forces and energy with expert guide, Mr Wright, who will propel an (un)lucky volunteer across the stage on the Wonderstruck Rocket Car, tinker with liquid nitrogen, and explode a rather large bowl of breakfast cereal along the way.
The shows run four times a day – 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm– with quieter sessions taking place on Sundays at 11am.

Make & Take and Museum Trail

Elsewhere in the Museum, you’ll be able to get creative with Make & Take. Inspired by the science show, it’s a chance to design and make your very own paper cup rocket and see how high it can fly. Then, explore the wonders of the Museum in search of lab coats with a fun and fascinating Museum trail.
