Looe Food and Drink Festival
Looe Food and Drink Festival returns
Sunday 15th September
Looe Food and Drink Festival returns this September promising to be "Bigger and Better than ever". The festival, which will be held at East Looe’s Buller Quay, will showcase the region’s very best local food vendors, celebrity headline chefs and fantastic drinks offerings.
A one-day spectacular, the festival will be completely free of charge to visit, making this a fantastic and affordable day out for local residents and holidaymakers alike. Winnter of the BBC Great British Menu and local restaurateur Chef Ben Palmer is set to head the impressive chef demos. The full line up is yet to be announced but you can expect appearances from fellow Great British Menu finalists, Andi Tuck, Elly Wentwork and Mike Naidoo alongside The Tarton Fox Senior Sous Chef, Andrew Tuck.
Over twenty local food producers and suppliers will be showcasing their culinary delights at the event, in addition to the incredible array of local cafes, restaurants and shops already trading in the town – all shining a light on Looe’s integral part of the Cornish foodie scene. With everything on offer from Cornish street food to local organic peanut butter, there really is something for everyone at this vibrant new food and drink festival.
On the day
Festival attendees can look forward to live chef demonstrations starting at 11am, hosted by Sharp's Beer Sommelier Ed Hughes. The event will showcase local produce and artisan food stalls, providing a true taste of Cornwall. As the day progresses, local band DIVISION will entertain the crowd from 5pm - 6pm.
A special pre-festival event, Grape vs Grain, will take place at The Sardine Factory on Saturday evening, 14th September. This unique beer and wine pairing event will feature Ed Hughes from Sharp's Brewing Co and Ffion Evans from Molson Coors. Chef Ben Palmer will create tasting dishes for this friendly "contest," with proceeds benefiting the Fisherman's Mission fund.
