Luxmuralis arrives at Truro Cathedral
With less than a month to go, excitement is building as Truro Cathedral prepares to host Truro’s first Luxmuralis light and sound show.
Space by Luxmuralis allows visitors to gaze into the universe through the magnificent backdrop of the cathedral between 13 – 17 January 2025.
Described as the “stained glass windows of our time” and “art on an epic scale”, Luxmuralis’ light shows are an incredible opportunity to see one of the South West’s greatest buildings come to life as you’ve never seen it before.
Luxmuralis is the artistic collaboration between Peter Walker Sculptor and David Harper Composer who specialise in immersive fine art, light and sound installations around the UK and abroad.
During the art installation, event-goers will be able to take a walk through ‘Space’, look out and think about what humans have achieved in the world. Visitors will wander through projections of galaxies, a rocket launch, and the universe beyond, all with immersive soundscapes.
For those wanting to visit the show, tickets are available on the Truro Cathedral website.
Time slots are available every 20 minutes between 17:10 and 21:30 from Tuesday 14 January – Friday 17 January and every 20 minutes from 17:50 – 21:30 on the first night (Monday 13 January).
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £8 for children aged over 5, under 5’s are free and a family ticket (2 adults and up to 5 children) is £25.
The full light show takes about 45 minutes to complete, but visitors are welcome to stay and immerse themselves for as long as they like once they’ve entered the cathedral at their designated time slot.
