The BIG Christmas Market

Discover the magic of the BIG Christmas Market, hosted by Truro Farmers Market. This month-long market is a celebration of local craft and produce, where you can rediscover the magic of Christmas.

    Christmas Lights & Artisan Delights

From November 29th to Christmas Eve, Truro's Lemon Quay will come alive with the vibrant energy of traders from across Cornwall. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of local food, drink, art, and crafts. Each day brings a unique showcase of Cornwall's diverse talents, offering a perfect opportunity to find that special, locally crafted gift for your loved ones.

A significant highlight of this year's festivities is the introduction of bespoke wooden cabins that will house Cornwall's top-tier artisan traders and producers. Crafted locally by Llawnroc Furniture, these charming cabins add a touch of tradition and showcase the incredible talents within the Cornish community. Lemon Quay, the bustling epicenter of the market, will be transformed into a lively hub of festive commerce.

Guests to The BIG Christmas Market will be intermittently serenaded with Christmas carols, warmed with mince pies and roast chestnuts, tempted with mulled wine and spiced cider, and entertained by local musicians and street performers in what is sure to be a real highlight in the season of goodwill.

New to the market this year is a street food and bar area, nestled under twinkling fairy lights. Sip on festive cocktails and refreshments from the licensed bar while feasting on heart-warming dishes and indulgent treats from Cornwall's finest travelling chefs.

    Plan your visit

The BIG Christmas Market will open on Wednesday 29th November, kicking off with the Father Christmas Parade at 6:30 pm. Organised by Truro BID, the parade will feature Father Christmas in his sleigh, accompanied by elves, local community dance groups, musicians, and circus performers. Follow the parade to Lemon Quay, where the enchantment continues at the market. The sparkling centrepiece of the market will be a 30ft Christmas tree, and visitors are invited to have their photo taken in a giant snow globe as a memento of their magical festive experience.

The market will run every day thereafter until Christmas Eve, and the revolving selection of traders – an eclectic mix of local food, drink, art, and crafts – means it’s well worth visiting more than once.

Plus, every Wednesday and Saturday are bumper market days, with stalls of fresh produce and street food also popping up on Boscawen Street, and Truro’s Late Night Shopping offering seeing extended trading hours across the city until 9pm.

The market will trade from 09.00 - 17.00 from Monday - Saturday, extended until 21.00 on Wednesdays. The market will be open from 10.00 - 16.00 on Sundays. The produce stalls on Boscawen Street will be open from 09.00 - 21.00 on Wednesdays, and 09.00 - 16.00 on Saturdays.
