Aqua Park, Retallack Resort - Padstow

If it's going to rain and you are going to get wet, why not check out Retallack's famous Aqua Park including a 15ft slide, floating trampoline, obstacle courses, narrow slipways, climbing frames and an amazing bag blast sending people sky high. This isn't just for children, adults are more than welcome to bounce and splash their way around this wipe-out style course as well.

Geevor Tin Mine - Near St Just

What better place to escape the pitter patter of rain drops than deep underground, shuffling your way through Cornish history at Geevor Tin Mine. Swap the rain mac for an overcoat and the umbrella for a hard hat, and you’ll be all set for a tour of Cornwall's mining heritage. Relive the sights and smells of a miner and discover what lies beneath this stretch of the rugged Atlantic coast, before emerging into the daylight and biting into a pasty in the onsite Count House Cafe.

Eden Project - Near St Austell

Don't miss the Eden Project, Cornwall's world famous visitor attraction, housed in massive transparent biomes, where the tropical, sub-tropical and temperature worlds meet. Zig-zagging along paths below the visitor centre, most people make straight for the Rainforest and Medittanean Biomes, but don't overlook the outdoor space - it's a wonderland of plants, art installations, secluded seats and hidden secrets.

Penlee House Gallery - Penzance

Built in 1865, Penlee House in the centre of Penzance is an award winning gallery and museum set within an attractive park. It specialises in the area’s unique, rich cultural heritage including stunning works of art connected to the nearby Newlyn School of Artists. The adjoining museum traces the history of the area back to prehistoric times whilst the cafe serves a wide range of quality food and drink.

Outdoor Adventure – Bude

If it’s raining, then you might as well get wet, so why not take a surfing lesson or do some coasteering? All around Cornwall’s coast there are schools offering lessons including Outdoor Adventure up at Widemouth Bay near Bude.

National Maritime Museum Cornwall - Falmouth

The rainy days will send you scuttling to the brilliant National Maritime Museum Cornwall, named as 'one of Britain's coolest museums' by the Sunday Times. Standing big and bold on the water’s edge in Falmouth, start your voyage of discovery in the Main Hall where an airborne flotilla (suspended on wires from the ceiling) includes three Olympic gold-winning yachts. This year, 2019, see's a special exhibition based around the Titanic.

Blue Reef Aquarium - Newquay

Take the ultimate undersea safari at the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay. Enjoy close encounters with everything from tropical sharks to enchanting seahorses. More than 30 living displays bring the wonders of the aquatic world to life. With informative talks and feeding demonstrations the aquarium is a spectacular experience whatever the weather.

Carnglaze Caverns - Near Liskeard

Part of Cornwall’s mining heritage, these three man-made caverns were once a slate quarry in the Loveny Valley, near the pretty village of St Neot on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The lowest of the three caverns features a crystal clear lake, whilst outside you can wander around 6.5 acres of shaded woodland with an Enchanted Dell filled with faeries, guarded by loyal dragons and home to hobbits and other wondrous woodland creatures. Take a picnic and make a day of it. Carnglaze is fun for all the family all year round.

Telegraph Museum - Porthcurno

Discover the award-winning Telegraph Museum at Porthcurno and uncover Cornwall’s hidden communication history, where messages from all corners of the globe have been buzzing through undersea cables since 1870, making Porthcurno one of the most connected places on the planet and a hub of global communications to this very day. Explore the underground World War 2 tunnels and experience the sights and sounds of a working telegraph station.
