Nothing like Surfing for that Adrenaline Rush
Just imagine you're high in the air, the water is spraying your face, the wind is blowing your hair. Then... crash, you're down! It's the joy of surfing, one of the world's most adventurous water-based sports. Surfing has always enjoyed an elevated status as the sport of kings. It is different, addictive and of course a lot of fun. It is one of the oldest practised sports on the planet.
For centuries, it was a central part of ancient Polynesian culture and for Hawaiians, it was a spiritual art form. Europeans encountered it the first time in 1767, when they arrived at the coast of Tahiti. In the early 1900s, surfing began to be recognised by international sporting agencies as a legitimate sport. Its mainstream popularity peaked in the United States in the early 1960s with music, movies and television programs dedicated to the surfing lifestyle.
This unique water sport casts a spell on you. It is a release for all stress. Sure it's hard, but once you're on that long board, you're on for the ride, there is no way back. You fell in love with it the moment you got on that board. One of the greatest things about it is that you need only three things: your body, a wave, and a surf-board. You can do a lot of tricks on a surfboard.
The effect of surfing is equal to almost everyone – whoever gets the chance to stand on a board and catch a wave just once, never ever wants to stop riding the waves. The reasons why surfing is so popular among people are that it is cool, adventurous, funny and an excellent exercise too. You get to experience the nature and it makes you feel awesome, especially on the ocean.
Above all it's a sport that makes you feel alive.
