Our Seafood Coast
Here in Cornwall we are virtually surrounded by sea, full of wonderful fish, so there’s no excuse not to enjoy the fruits of the sea. We also have plenty of restaurants, pubs and fish & chip shops, all ready to cook the finest meals for you.
You can check out over 50 places to eat on our website here.
However, as much as we want to promote the fish and shellfish served up around Cornwall, we must remember to be sustainable and try and eat locally sourced produce. Fish such as sardines, plaice, black seabream, and sole all rate highly this year with good numbers swimming around our shores, but try and avoid too much monkfish, squid, herring and cod, staples of our fish & chip industry.
If you want to check up on which fish are sustainable, click here for Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Good Seafood Guide. There’s some great recipes on there as well, if you fancy cooking at home.
But if you want to eat out, here’s a list of Visit Cornwall members who are also recommended by Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
