    National Maritime Museum Cornwall

    Escape from Treasure Island!

    From Monday 22nd July to Sunday 1st September, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall invites families to "Escape from Treasure Island!"

    Join heroes in solving clues, finding treasure, and defeating baddies like a hungry gorilla, ghostly phantom zombie, giant kraken, and island crocodile. Create your treasure map, make pirate crafts, and explore the museum's 15 galleries, including the RNLI boats, Lookout Tower, Tidal Zone, and more.     The National Trust sites in Cornwall are offering a variety of family-friendly activities to enjoy this summer. From traditional garden games and Tudor dress-up at Antony, to pond dipping and willow weaving at Cotehele, there's something for everyone. Explore nature walks at Glendurgan and Godolphin, or join the Big Butterfly Count at Lanhydrock and Trelissick. With events including historical tours, craft workshops, and outdoor adventures, families can enjoy memorable days out in beautiful settings.     Teddy Bear’s Picnic

    From 30th July to 1st August, join Stevie Bear for a Teddy Bear's Picnic at Bodmin Railway. With teddy bears dotted around the station and on board the train, take part in a kids activity sheet and enjoy a picnic box as you steam through the Cornish countryside. Stevie Bear will be there to greet and bid farewell, and will be on the platform when the train is in the station.

    To ride on the Teddy Bear Picnic trains, simply purchase one of the all-line tickets during one of the three days (30th & 31st July or 1st August). Kids travel 1/2 price with their teddy bear – use the code ‘BRINGTEDDY’ at checkout, to receive 1/2 price child ticket.

    Land’s End

    Magic in the Skies

    Gather with friends and family at the Westernmost point of Cornwall for a thrilling cocktail of pyrotechnic wizardry lighting up the skies above Land’s End every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 25th July – 29th August 2024 at 10:00pm!

    Set to a thrilling soundtrack created especially for Land’s End, these iconic nights are the perfect way to end a visit to this unique destination.

    From 10am until late you can enjoy shopping, foodie treats, live music and family entertainment, before the iconic firework display lights up the landmark after dusk.

    The National Lobster Hatchery

    Summer of Sea Creatures

    From 14th July to 1st September, explore the fascinating world of sea life at The National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow. Visitors can marvel at a collection of marine artefacts from Falmouth Marine School, participate in ocean-themed activities, and enjoy exclusive underwater footage from The Open Ocean Group. This family and dog-friendly event runs daily from 9.00am to 5.00pm and is included with admission. It's a perfect summer outing for marine enthusiasts of all ages.     Otter Spotter Special Quiz

    From 10th June and throughout the summer holidays, join the Otter Spotter Special Quiz at Paradise Park. Meet Pippin, Katarni, and their four pups from last year, plus four new otter pups born in April. Explore the sanctuary to find information on the otters that will help you answer the quiz questions. Then, claim your exclusive badge! This family-friendly event is the perfect way to find out more about these animals.

    Gruffalo Party Trail

    Celebrate The Gruffalo’s 25th birthday with a new forest adventure at Cardinham Woods! The interactive family trail features party-themed activities, games, and fun forest facts. Follow the trail to find missing party items like balloons, pine cones, and apples, completing fun activities along the way.

    Get a Gruffalo Party Trail pack for £4 from the Ranger's Hut, which includes a colouring kraft bag, headband, activity leaflet, stickers, pencil, crayon, and a keepsake sew-on Gruffalo Party patch.

    Summer at Pendennis Castle

    The Legendary Joust returns to Pendennis Castle from 30th July to 1st August. Enjoy the thrilling spectacle of knights competing in a grand mediaeval joust at Pendennis Castle. Experience the roar of the crowd and mediaeval life with archery and falconry.

    Then, the Knights Tournament will be back from 6th - 8th August. Experience the excitement as rival knights compete in four gruelling rounds at Pendennis Castle. Witness the pageantry and action of 15th-century tournaments.

    Throughout the Summer, you will also be able to take part in the Where’s My Shadow? Quest. Noble, Pendennis Castle’s trusty guard dog, has lost his shadow. Join the summer quest between 1st July and 1st September and explore the castle grounds to help Noble find it!


    Cornwall Gold Olympics

    From Friday 5th July and lasting all Summer long, Cornwall Gold will be hosting the Cornwall Gold Olympics.

    Get ready for a variety of free family fun activities, including:

    Outside Olympic Games – all ages can enjoy our outside games including a 25-meter sprint, long jump, tug of war and more! Will you win gold and get to stand on the podium?

    Going for Gold Trail – can you find the gold medals hidden around our venue and answer the quiz questions correctly to win a prize?

    Activity sheet – relax in our award-winning Pantry and enjoy our summer colouring-in sheet, quiz, word search and more!

    Olympic-Sized Breakfast on a Shovel is a limited-edition breakfast feast!
