The Herring Restaurant
At dawn our fishermen and local farmers are out gathering produce from the fields and the sea, so that it arrives at Bedruthan with the dew still on it. Our chefs love to cook with natural ingredients straight from the earth as fresh tastes so much better. Our philosophy is beautiful food infused with flavour that puts a big smile on your face. And eating at The Herring restaurant is eating with a conscience too. Every bite you take is helping our local community. All our fish is sustainably caught with respect for our fragile marine environment.
Offering a quiet and intimate dining experience with its own daily changing and seasonal menu, The Herring makes the most of Cornwall’s produce. You can expect fresh fish, slow cooked and roasted local meats and the freshest of seasonal vegetables and sauces.
The Herring is the perfect place to reconnect as you watch the sun set over the Atlantic and the waves come rushing up the beach together.
We are open to hotel guests and non-residents daily for dinner between 6pm and 9:30pm.
Driving on the main road through Mawgan Porth from the north, you will find us on the right hand side before heading down the steep road to the beach. From the south, drive past the centre of the village and continue up the hill past the pitch and putt course. Follow the road around and find us on the left hand side.
