Riding Bodmin Moor, the breathtaking land of tales and legends, is a truly exhilarating experience, which can only be described as some of the best horse riding in the UK and Europe.
For those who fancy a slightly longer refreshment ride, our pub ride takes you across the moor to the picturesque village of Blisland, where we hitch up the horses on the village green opposite the Blisland Inn for a refreshment break.
For the experienced riders (with suitable riding abilities), both 1 and 2 hour rides are available & are escorted across Bodmin Moor at a pace suitable for the experience of the party riding. An experienced Pub Ride is also available.
Trail rides are available for the experienced riders with suitable riding abilities and need to be arranged at least 1 week in advance. Riders must be assessed on a 2 hour ride (to establish the level of their competence) prior to them being booked on a Trail Ride & there must be a minimum of 2 riders booked for a trail ride to proceed. Please note, these rides can be up to approx. 5 hours long and routes can be subject to change.
Hallagenna also offers holiday packages, these offer you and your family or friends not only the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic riding holiday but also (for the non riders in your family/group), the perfect Moorland location from which you can all explore this breathtaking land of tales and legends.
Hallagenna is also ideally located to be able to enjoy the other activities Cornwall has to offer, from extreme sports to relaxing at a spa! With fun parks, go-karting, watersports, cycling, climbing, fishing, golf or just peaceful walks across the amazing moorland, there should be something for everyone.

The Poldark Trail
Our Instructor Jen was involved in handling the horses when the BBC series was filmed around Hallagenna. To celebrate the fantastic scenery featured throughout the series we’ve launched a Poldark Trail. During this trail we visit several of the sites used for filming to give riders a real feel for “Poldark” country. This trail will only be available to Experienced Riders (riders comfortable at walk, trot and canter).
Throughout the trail you will experience countryside and terrain ridden by those filming both the original and the new Poldark series and pass Ross Poldark’s Home.
The trail is available as 2 hours (£70 per person) or 3/4 hours (£110 per person).
A shorter ride is available to novice riders through countryside which is familiar to the area used in the filming. From £25 per person. (Regular Rider rate )
